In the past few days, the great tit has always managed to hide the clutch of eggs in the nest so well that we couldn’t catch a glimpse of them in the morning and could only guess how many eggs there are.
This evening, shortly before going to bed, she was careless. She had already prepared the nest hollow, but then reconsidered leaving the nest without covering the hollow again.
And so we finally had the opportunity to catch a view of the clutch.
And as you can see, the titmouse is right on schedule.
Day 6 -> 6 eggs
As soon as the titmouse spends most of the day in the nest, the time has come when it has begun to breed. The incubation period is about 14 days.
