On the evening of 02 March 2022, the first hedgehog of the season appeared.
Apparently the warm daytime temperatures have caused him to slowly awaken from his hibernation.
Based on his “hairstyle” I would say that this is Rambo. Rambo can be easily recognised by his “middle parting” between the two ears.
After a short snack in the feeding house he left again. Now we have to wait and see whether he will appear every day from now on or whether the whole thing was just a short awake phase. It is quite possible that he will go back to sleep at the current sub-zero temperatures we still have at night.
Just in case, I prepared the hedgehog feeder and put out a bowl of water.
