Apparently, over time, the birds that want to breed in my nest boxes are getting bigger. What I did not even notice at first, in the last few days, a starling looked again and again in the nest box, which hangs in the willow. In this box I had mounted a few weeks ago a wooden board with an entrance hole of 45mm, because already before now and then a starling looked through the then still smaller entrance hole.
And today the box was now internsiv examined.
I am curious whether the starling decides to build a nest in the box. And are the inhabitants of the nesting boxes now getting even bigger from year to year? Is the ostrich actually a cavity nester? 🙂
Oh, and because it looks in the video sometimes as if the starling would get stuck in the entrance hole… I have already enlarged the hole a little 😉
